Rocket Lab's Neutron Rocket Completes Tests
Rocket Lab, a company that makes rockets, has finished testing a special part of their new rocket called Neutron.
This part is like a clamshell that opens and closes to release the rocket's second stage and its payload.
It's designed to be reused, which is similar to what SpaceX's Falcon 9 does, but in a different way.
The Neutron rocket is smaller and cheaper, and Rocket Lab hopes it can compete with SpaceX's bigger rocket.
The tested part has been sent to a spaceport in Virginia where it will be added to the rocket.
The first flight of Neutron is expected to happen early next year.
Rocket Lab's Neutron rocket has completed final qualification tests for its unique fairing design.
The fairing opens and closes like a clamshell, releasing the entire second stage and payload for reuse.
Neutron is designed to compete with SpaceX's Falcon 9, offering similar reusability at a lower cost.
The fairing has been sent to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport in Virginia for integration.
The first flight of Neutron is expected to take place early next year.
