Raj Kundra Challenges PMLA Court Order in Bitcoin Case
Raj Kundra, a businessman, is in trouble because the Enforcement Directorate (ED) says he received a lot of Bitcoins and didn't tell anyone about it.
The ED thinks this might be money laundering.
A special court agreed with the ED and told Kundra to come to court.
But Kundra says the court didn't follow the rules because he wasn't given a chance to explain himself before the court decided he was involved.
Now, the Bombay High Court will decide if the special court did the right thing.
The High Court will hear the case on August 6, 2026.
Raj Kundra has challenged the PMLA court's cognisance order and summons in a Bitcoin-linked money laundering case.
The ED alleges Kundra received 285 Bitcoins worth Rs 150.47 crore and did not disclose the details or hand over the cryptocurrency.
Kundra argues the special court violated Section 223(1) of the BNSS by not giving him an opportunity to be heard before taking cognisance.
The Bombay High Court has scheduled the hearing for August 6, 2026.
Kundra has been granted bail after appearing in response to the summons.
