Centre finds 88 PMGSY roads unsatisfactory in Darjeeling
The central government found that 88 out of 130 road projects in Darjeeling were not good quality.
These roads were built under a special program called PMGSY.
The government told West Bengal to fix these roads quickly.
A local leader, Raju Bista, said the previous government wasted money and did not build good roads.
The new government promises to be more honest and fix these problems.
88 out of 130 PMGSY road projects in Darjeeling were found unsatisfactory by NRIDA.
8 projects were classified as 'Satisfactory Requiring Improvement' and 34 as 'Satisfactory'.
The Union Minister directed the West Bengal government to take corrective action and submit a compliance report.
BJP MP Raju Bista alleged large-scale irregularities and corruption in the execution of these roads.
The state government has set up a Commission on Institutional Corruption to address such issues.
