UP: UIDAI Launches Drive for Minor Aadhaar Biometric Updates
The government is making sure kids in Uttar Pradesh get their Aadhaar cards updated.
This means getting their fingerprints and other body details recorded.
This is for children between 5 and 17 years old.
You can go to special centers called Aadhaar Seva Kendras to get it done, or other places like the post office.
Kids aged 5-7 and 15-17 get the update for free.
There's a small fee for updates between 8-14 years old.
The goal is to keep everyone's Aadhaar information accurate and up-to-date, especially during the summer break from school.
UIDAI in Lucknow initiates a campaign for mandatory biometric updates for 4.6 crore minors in Uttar Pradesh.
Biometric updates are required for children aged 5-17 years, with specific age-related procedures and costs.
Walk-in services for updates are available at 12 Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs) across UP during specific hours.
The campaign aims to raise awareness and facilitate the update process, especially during school summer vacations.
Additional update centers are available, including those run by the Indian postal service, requiring prior appointments.
