IAS Officer Mentors Teen Fleeing Home for Studies
An 18-year-old girl named Sakshi from Bhopal ran away from home to study and prepare for the IAS exams because her parents didn't want her to.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court got involved and decided that Sakshi should be allowed to continue her studies.
The court also asked a brave IAS officer named Bandana Preyashi to be Sakshi's mentor and guide her.
Preyashi is known for her bold actions and has worked on many important projects in Bihar.
She is happy to help Sakshi and believes that more girls are now taking big steps to follow their dreams and become independent.
Madhya Pradesh High Court appointed IAS officer Bandana Preyashi as mentor to 18-year-old Sakshi, who fled home to pursue studies and UPSC coaching.
Sakshi's parents initially opposed her education, but the court upheld her right to continue studying.
Preyashi, known for her bold actions in Bihar, has started counselling Sakshi's family and will continue to guide her.
Preyashi highlighted that many young girls are breaking traditional roles and seeking financial independence with support from their mothers and government schemes.
The court's decision to appoint a mentor is seen as a step beyond judicial purview to nurture girls' dreams against family and societal objections.
