Delhi High Court Orders Fencing of Graveyard on Yamuna Floodplains
The Delhi High Court has ordered that a graveyard on the Yamuna floodplains must be fenced within a week to stop people from building houses or living there.
The court said that the floodplains are important for the environment and no one should be allowed to live or build structures there.
They also told the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to leave the area by March 31, 2026, and clean up any mess they leave behind.
The court will check on this again in February 2026 to make sure their orders are being followed.
