BRICS New Delhi Summit Revives a Russia-India-China Axis

The BRICS meeting in New Delhi has made people pay attention again to cooperation among Russia, India, and China.

This group is sometimes called RIC.

India and China still have border disagreements and do not trade equally.

Russia sells India important arms and energy but has become more dependent on China because of Western sanctions.

BRICS gives these countries a larger group where they can work together without solving every disagreement.

Other countries, including Brazil, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates, are also part of the expanded group.

Supporters say BRICS can create new markets, financing, and cooperation in technology and energy.

Critics worry that the group could increase regional security pressures and may not last if India and China remain rivals.
