Two Arrested After Alleged Security Breach At Mumbai Cultural Centre

Police in Mumbai stopped three people after they allegedly entered a cultural centre using a suspicious government identity card.

Two of them were arrested.

One person reportedly claimed to work for the Prime Minister’s Office.

His bodyguard allegedly had a firearm.

Police said the firearm was legally licensed.

Investigators are checking why the men tried to enter the venue and why they allegedly pretended to be government officials.

A court sent one accused, Rohan Parekh, to police custody until September 11.

Police said the incident was not connected to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Mumbai.
