Hyderabad Mosquito Menace Grows Amid Waterlogging and Poor Sanitation
People in many parts of Hyderabad are seeing far more mosquitoes than usual.
The mosquitoes are breeding in still water that does not move away.
Broken roads, blocked drains, garbage and waterlogging are making the problem worse.
Some affected areas are near lakes, nalas and other water bodies.
Residents say mosquito coils and repellents are not helping enough.
The insects are disturbing sleep, especially in the evenings and at night.
People want civic workers to remove stagnant water and spray areas more often.
Officials did not respond when asked about the complaints.

Locals blame inadequate fogging, overflowing drains, uncollected garbage, waterlogging and damaged roads.
Complaints have emerged from Samathanagar, Uppal, Champapet, Lakdi Ka Pul, Banjara Hills, Nizampet, Venkatrayanagar and Sun City.
