PM Modi to Open SEMICON India 2026 Amid Chip Ambitions
SEMICON India 2026 is a large event about computer chips and electronics.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to open it on September 17 in New Delhi.
It will last three days and bring together companies, researchers, students, investors and government officials.
More than 600 exhibitors will show technologies used across the chip industry.
About half of the exhibitors are expected to be international companies.
Visitors will learn how materials become chips and how chips are used in electronic systems.
People will discuss artificial intelligence, chip design, packaging and reliable supply chains.
Start-ups and students can present ideas through competitions and showcases.
India hopes the event will support partnerships, investment, skills and growth in its semiconductor industry.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the fifth SEMICON India 2026 on September 17 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi.
The three-day event, running through September 19, is jointly organized by the India Semiconductor Mission, MeitY and SEMI.
More than 600 exhibitors, including about 300 international companies, will occupy 15,000 square metres of exhibition space.
Sessions and exhibits will cover chip manufacturing, artificial intelligence, design, advanced packaging, supply chains, displays, research and workforce development.
Start-ups, students and researchers will participate through a pitch competition, hackathon, innovation showcase and the “Sand to Silicon to Systems” experience.
