Rare Turtles Released in Sanctuary for Conservation
Imagine 104 special turtles, like the Black soft shell, were moved to a new, safe home.
These turtles were carefully taken from a temple pond and brought to a wildlife sanctuary.
The goal is to protect them because some are very rare.
People from the zoo, government, and a temple worked together to make this happen.
They chose a place with lots of other wildlife.
The turtles were checked by vets first.
This helps the turtles to be safer and have a better place to live, so their numbers can grow and they won't be endangered.
104 turtles of three different species were released.
The release took place in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary.
The initiative involved various organizations and departments.
The turtles were initially quarantined at the State Zoo.
The goal is to improve the turtles' conservation status and habitat.
