Assam Schools Reopening Decision to Be Made by Districts After Floods

Assam has had big floods that damaged many schools.

The state’s Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, said that the final decision about whether schools can open again will be made by each district’s local leaders.

These leaders will look at how bad the damage is and whether it’s safe to go back to class.

Most schools and colleges are not ready yet, but a few might reopen.

The state is waiting for the districts to decide before classes start on August 1.
