Telangana Police Introduces 25-Parameter Check for Cop Suicides
The Telangana Police have started a new program to help police officers who are feeling very stressed.
They have made a list of 25 questions to find out if an officer might be thinking about hurting themselves.
The police bosses said that officers who are stressed can take time off and talk to a doctor.
They also trained 750 police inspectors to help their colleagues.
This is because some police officers have taken their own lives in the past due to stress, money problems, or even because they were addicted to online games.
Telangana Police have introduced a 25-parameter program to assess stress levels among police personnel to prevent suicides.
The initiative was announced by DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy during the annual press conference, highlighting the rise in suicides among policemen due to work stress, family issues, and financial hardships.
Additional DGPs Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat and Charu Sinha mentioned that 750 police inspectors were trained to counsel stressed officers.
Officers identified as having suicidal tendencies will be referred to psychiatrists for counseling and medical care.
Past suicides among policemen were linked to addiction to online betting games and financial constraints.
