Odisha Extends Electric Vehicle Policy Through December 2026

Odisha has decided to keep its electric vehicle policy in place until December 31, 2026.

The policy is meant to encourage people to use electric vehicles and support their manufacture in the state.

The government says this can help reduce carbon emissions.

Buyers can receive subsidies, and electric vehicles are exempt from road tax and registration fees under the policy.

The policy also offers incentives for manufacturers and some other costs.

The subsidy amount depends on the kind of vehicle.

For example, the stated maximum subsidy is Rs 20,000 for a two-wheeler and Rs 1.5 lakh for a four-wheeler.

The government announced the extension in a notification issued on Saturday.
