Tribal Students Demand Fluoride-Free Water in Andhra Pradesh Hostel
Imagine some kids in a school hostel have a problem with their drinking water.
The water has too much of something called fluoride, which is making them sick.
The water comes from a hole in the ground, and it's also mixed with dirt.
Because of the bad water, they feel weak, their bones hurt, and their legs are uncomfortable.
The kids are asking the government to help by putting in a special machine called a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant.
This machine would clean the water and make it safe to drink.
They want the leaders to see the problem for themselves and understand how serious it is.
The kids' parents and some local people are also helping them ask for clean water.
Tribal students in Rolugunta village are suffering from health issues related to contaminated water.
The village has been classified as fluoridated since 2006 due to high fluoride levels in groundwater.
Students are using borehole water visibly mixed with soil and high in fluoride.
Students are requesting the installation of an RO plant for safe drinking water.
Parents, local activist, and CPI (M) leader are supporting the students.
