ISRO Launches US Satellite for Global Broadband
ISRO, the Indian space organization, is launching a big satellite called BlueBird Block-2 on December 24.
This satellite, made by a US company called AST SpaceMobile, aims to provide fast internet directly to smartphones all over the world.
It's the largest commercial communication satellite ever deployed in low Earth orbit.
Before the launch, the ISRO team visited the Tirumala Tirupati temple to seek blessings, following a long-standing tradition.
The satellite will work like a giant cell tower in space, allowing regular phones to connect to it without needing special equipment.
This could help people in remote areas stay connected during emergencies and improve communication in places where building towers is difficult.
The launch is a big step in making sure everyone can stay connected, no matter where they are.
ISRO's LVM3 M6 mission will launch AST SpaceMobile's BlueBird Block-2 satellite on December 24 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
The satellite aims to provide global high-speed cellular broadband directly to smartphones, supporting 4G and 5G services.
BlueBird Block-2 is the largest commercial communication satellite deployed in low Earth orbit and the heaviest payload launched by the LVM3 from Indian soil.
ISRO's commercial division, NewSpace India Ltd, has partnered with AST SpaceMobile for this launch.
