Bombay HC Halts Airport Bids Over Security Clearance
A court in Mumbai has told the airport there to pause its plans to replace a company called Celebi, which handles services at the airport.
This is because the government took away Celebi's security clearance, citing national security concerns.
Celebi is fighting this decision and has gone to court to challenge it.
The court's decision means the airport can't finalize any new contracts for now, while the legal challenge is ongoing.
The court also ordered that the company currently handling the services, Indo Thai, report its operational and financial data to MIAL, which will share it with Celebi.
Bombay High Court restrained MIAL from finalizing bids to replace Celebi.
The court's order is in effect until the challenge is heard.
BCAS revoked Celebi's security clearance on May 15.
Celebi approached Bombay HC against the revocation.
Indo Thai Airport Services was asked to handle services with Celebi's staff.
