BBC Under Pressure to Shelve MasterChef Season
The BBC is facing calls to delay the new season of MasterChef, which has already been filmed, because the hosts were fired.
A broadcasting union and a former contestant are unhappy.
They want the BBC to not show the season, which was filmed before the firings.
The BBC wants to air it, saying it's for the contestants.
The show will still feature the fired hosts, and the BBC is making some edits.
Some people believe the BBC should make a stand by editing the hosts out of the show.
The BBC is under pressure to pull the final MasterChef season featuring Gregg Wallace and John Torode before its August 6 launch.
Philippa Childs of Bectu has urged the BBC to reconsider broadcasting the series, citing concerns from complainants and freelancers.
A contestant claims she's being edited out after protesting the BBC's decision to air the show.
The BBC has made edits to reduce Wallace and Torode's airtime, but they remain the presenters.
The BBC maintains airing the series is the right decision for the amateur chefs involved.
