West Bengal to implement 7th pay commission

West Bengal to implement 7th pay commission

The West Bengal government, led by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, has announced plans to implement the 7th pay commission this fiscal year.

This move aims to bridge the salary gap between state and central government employees by increasing the dearness allowance (DA) by 20 percentage points, bringing it to 38% of basic pay.

The government has also assured that pending arrears will be cleared on time.

The previous government was criticized for delaying the implementation of the 6th pay commission due to financial constraints.

The current government is committed to gradually narrowing the DA gap with the Centre, ensuring a careful and calculated approach to pay revisions.
