Andhra Pradesh Offers Stipend Hike as Junior Doctors Protest

Andhra Pradesh Offers Stipend Hike as Junior Doctors Protest

Junior doctors in Andhra Pradesh are protesting for higher stipends.

They stopped working in emergency services on August 17.

The government offered interns a 10% increase.

It also mentioned an earlier promised 3% increase for postgraduate and super-speciality students.

The doctors did not accept the government’s offer.

They asked for a 13% increase instead.

Health Secretary G. Veerapandian asked them to return to work.

He said patients were having trouble getting healthcare during the protest.
