SBI to add 6,500 staff for YONO 2.0
The State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a new version of its digital banking app called YONO 2.0.
They plan to add 6,500 new employees to help customers move to this digital platform.
Currently, they have about 100 million customers using their mobile banking apps and aim to double this number to 200 million.
The new app is designed to work better on low-memory phones and in areas with weak internet.
It also makes everyday banking tasks like checking balances and transferring money faster and easier.
SBI believes that using digital channels can reduce the cost of acquiring customers and improve efficiency.
The app will also be available in multiple languages and will automatically update for current users in the next 15 days.
SBI plans to add 6,500 employees to help migrate customers to YONO 2.0, aiming to reach a total of 10,000 staff for this purpose.
The bank currently has 100 million digital banking customers and aims to double this number to 200 million in the next two years.
YONO 2.0 is designed to work on low-memory phones and in areas with weak internet connectivity, offering a simpler and faster banking experience.
The new app includes simplified KYC and re-KYC processes, reducing the need for repeated verifications across products.
SBI expects to reduce the cost of acquiring customers through digital channels to one-tenth of the cost of branch acquisition.
