Sensex, Nifty Extend Losses for Third Day
The Sensex and Nifty, which are important stock market indicators in India, went down for the third day in a row.
This happened because of problems like rising oil prices and a weaker Indian rupee.
Some companies in the auto and FMCG sectors did well because of good earnings, but most other sectors, like banking and IT, did not do so well.
Investors lost a lot of money, about Rs 4.24 lakh crore.
Experts say that the market is uncertain and investors should be careful.
Sensex declined 715.06 points to 76,755.05, Nifty50 dropped 191.45 points to 23,996.25.
Banking, IT, and financial stocks were major contributors to the decline.
Realty, media, and IT were the worst-performing sectors.
Investor wealth decreased by Rs 4.24 lakh crore.
Geopolitical tensions, rising crude oil prices, and a weak rupee contributed to the market downturn.
