City Gas to Lead Natural Gas Demand in India by 2030
Imagine a lot of houses and businesses using natural gas, like a giant network.
According to a report, by the end of this decade, more and more people will be using this type of gas in cities.
The city gas part is expected to use nearly a third of all the natural gas in India.
The increase in the use of CNG and piped gas will help the growth.
Plus, if gas prices stay low, more people will use it.
Businesses are also expected to use more natural gas, which is cleaner than other fuels.
This is all because of cleaner fuels and how easy the gas is to get.
City gas distribution (CGD) is projected to be the largest natural gas consumer by 2030.
CGD is expected to account for 29% of total natural gas consumption in 2030 and 44% in 2040.
The regulator anticipates LNG availability below $9/mBtu will boost demand.
CNG stations increased 9 times, and D-PNG connections increased 5.8 times since FY14.
Industrial and commercial segments have significant growth potential, with natural gas replacing polluting fuels.
