Delhi to Pilot Medical Rooms in 100 Government Schools

Delhi to Pilot Medical Rooms in 100 Government Schools

Delhi plans to make medical rooms in 100 government schools.

These rooms will help students with small health problems during the school day.

Staff will provide first aid, basic healthcare and a place to rest temporarily.

Students can also receive health advice and counselling.

Girls will have a private space if they experience period-related discomfort.

Trained health workers will run the rooms through an approved outsourcing arrangement.

They will also organize health-awareness activities and keep health records.

The project costs Rs 5 crore initially and could later reach all 1,086 government schools.
