New Year Celebrations: Traffic and Security Plans
New Year's Eve is a big celebration in cities like Kolkata and Bengaluru.
To keep everyone safe and manage the crowds, the authorities have made special plans.
In Kolkata, the metro will run longer, and there will be extra security at busy stations like Park Street.
In Bengaluru, many roads will be closed, and lots of police will be there to help.
They are also setting up places for people to rest if they can't go home right away.
The goal is to make sure everyone has fun and stays safe.
Kolkata Metro announces extended services and enhanced security for New Year's Eve, focusing on Park Street and adjoining areas.
Bengaluru deploys 20,000 police personnel and implements traffic restrictions on major routes like MG Road, Brigade Road, and Church Street.
Special measures include dog squads, CCTV surveillance, body-worn cameras for police, and designated rest areas for revellers.
Traffic restrictions in Bengaluru include road closures from 8:00 PM on December 31 to 2:00 AM on January 1, with additional restrictions from 4:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
Authorities urge commuters to use public transport and warn of strict action against traffic rule violators, including drunken driving and reckless driving.
