IIT Madras Solar Car 'Aagneya' Heads to Global Race
Students from IIT Madras built a solar-powered race car called 'Aagneya'.
The car is going to race across Australia in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.
It's made of carbon fiber and uses solar energy stored in a battery.
The team plans to drive it a little slower to save energy.
The car has been tested and the team is confident in finishing the race.
The project has also kindled interest in sustainable solar powered domestic cars.
IIT Madras students designed a solar-powered racing car named 'Aagneya'.
The car is made of carbon fiber and will compete in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia.
The car can reach speeds of 110 km/h but will average 70-80 km/h to conserve energy.
The team, 'Team Agnirath', worked on the project for 15 months.
The team aims to complete the 3000 km race from Darwin to Adelaide in five days.
