Karnataka Reports Surge in Dog Bites and Rabies Deaths
In Karnataka, a lot of people have been bitten by dogs recently.
Over 230,000 people were bitten in the first six months of this year, and sadly, 19 people died from rabies, which is a disease that can spread from dog bites.
This is more than last year.
Health officials are trying to help by teaching doctors how to treat bites, making sure there's medicine available, and working with local groups to manage stray dogs.
They also want everyone to know that even small bites can be dangerous and need medical attention.

In all of 2024, the state reported 360,000 dog bite cases and 42 rabies deaths.
