Couple Discovers Hidden Camera Pointed At Their Bed During Spain Trip, Airbnb Responds · NDTV

A grandmother and grandfather from Britain went on a special trip to Madrid, Spain, to celebrate 39 years of being married.

They booked a little apartment through a website called Airbnb.

On the first day, they saw something that looked like a camera near the front door, but it had no light, so they thought it was just a security gadget.

The next day, the grandfather found another small camera hidden in the bedroom.

It was pointing right at their bed and had a blinking green light.

The couple was very scared because they had already slept in that room.

They called Airbnb, and the company told them to leave the apartment right away.

Airbnb gave them all their money back and even paid for their new place to stay.

The company also removed the apartment's page from its website while it looks into what happened.

In 2024, Airbnb made a rule that indoor cameras are not allowed inside any of its rentals.

Quotes

Donna Nunn

Retired British guest, 62, of the Airbnb property

“We were both shaking when we realised. Raymond took the camera off the wall and turned it around, but it was horrifying. We managed to book another place a couple of hours away, which was nice but meant that we couldn't finish the sightseeing. It's a shame because we will never go back to Madrid now because of this.”
