Rupee may strengthen to ₹95/$ if oil stays low
The Indian rupee might get stronger and reach around 95 rupees for 1 US dollar.
This could happen if the price of oil stays below $100 and more foreign money comes into India.
A very optimistic scenario suggests the rupee could even reach 93 rupees per dollar if the Reserve Bank of India allows all this foreign money to directly affect the exchange rate.
An expert from Kotak Securities thinks that by the end of September, a lot of foreign money might be deposited in special accounts, which could help the rupee become stronger.
The Indian rupee could strengthen to ₹95/$ if oil prices stay below $100.
Foreign inflows, particularly FCNR(B) deposits, are expected to exceed $50 billion by September 30.
An aggressive scenario could see the rupee strengthen to ₹93/$ if the RBI allows full market inflow.
Anindya Banerjee of Kotak Securities made these predictions.
The strength of the rupee is influenced by global oil prices and foreign investment flows.
