SK Telecom to Partially Resume eSIM Subscriptions After Data Breach
SK Telecom, a big phone company in South Korea, had a problem where some of its customer information was stolen.
To fix this, they stopped letting people sign up for new services that use something called eSIM.
Now, they're starting to let people sign up again, but only in their stores.
They're also giving new SIM cards to people whose information might have been stolen.
This will help protect them from bad guys who might try to steal their money or pretend to be them.
Soon, they plan to open the eSIM service fully again, once most people have gotten their new SIM cards.
SK Telecom will partially resume new eSIM subscriptions later this week.
The resumption follows a data breach involving USIM card data.
New subscriptions will restart at retail stores starting Monday.
The company is replacing affected customers' USIM cards to prevent fraud.
Full eSIM service is expected to resume after Friday.
