Congress Seeks Audits of Madhya Pradesh’s Highest-Revenue Mandis

Congress leader Jitu Patwari says many farm markets in Madhya Pradesh do not have enough basic facilities.

He says farmers may lack clean water, toilets, shade, roads and storage areas.

Patwari wants the government to publicly show how mandi fee money is collected and spent.

He specifically identified 110 mandis that earn more than Rs 3 crore each year.

He believes these markets should have enough money to serve farmers better.

He mentioned alleged problems in Raghogarh, Sidhi and Sabalgarh.

Patwari asked Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to order audits of these markets.

He also wants improvements to be completed within a fixed time.
