Bombay HC Upholds B.Tech Admission Cancellation Over Tampered CET Scorecards

Bombay HC Upholds B.Tech Admission Cancellation Over Tampered CET Scorecards

This story is about a student who wanted to study engineering.

He took a big exam called the MAH-MHT-CET in April and May.

The exam gives you a percentile score, which shows how you did compared to other students.

The student showed scorecards that said he did very well, and he got a temporary spot in a B.Tech course on June 23.

But the exam office checked the official records and found his real scores were much lower.

The exam office said the scorecards were 'tampered with,' which means someone changed them.

A court in Bombay looked at the case and said it could not help the student keep his seat.

The judges said no admission can justify cheating on an exam, because it is unfair to honest students.

The court did not decide who changed the scorecards, but it let the university cancel his admission.
