CBI Books Lok Nayak Hospital Officials in Corruption Case
Imagine hospital officials may have been cheating.
The CBI, which is like a special police force, thinks some people at a hospital bought expensive medicines and supplies in a way that cost the government a lot of money.
They made a deal with some companies to do this.
Instead of using cheaper generic medicine, they used more expensive, branded medicines.
They didn't follow the rules about how to buy things, either.
CBI registered an FIR against the former Medical Director and CMO of Lok Nayak Hospital.
Charges include conspiracy and breach of trust for causing losses to the government.
The case involves two private companies: Adison Equipment Company and S R Surgical.
S R Surgical allegedly supplied branded medicines instead of generic ones causing financial loss.
An open tender was extended without a fresh tender being floated.
