Land Regularisation Measures Announced as UPI Fee Faces Opposition

Land Regularisation Measures Announced as UPI Fee Faces Opposition

The state government wants to help solve problems involving certain properties that cannot normally be registered.

These properties are listed under Section 22-A rules.

The government plans to create new rules and committees to check applications.

Eligible property owners may then be able to register their properties.

Separately, a group called the Swadeshi Jagran Manch criticized a new fee for some UPI payments.

The fee would be 0.4 per cent for merchant transfers above Rs 2,000 starting October 15.

Everyday payments between people and small payments would not be charged.

The group says banks do not need this fee and that it could weaken UPI’s success.
