Mumbai Weather: IMD Yellow Alert for Heavy Rain; AQI Good
On Thursday morning, the city of Mumbai woke up to rain, cloudy skies, and breezy weather.
The weather scientists at the India Meteorological Department, also called the IMD, said today would bring heavy rain and thunderstorms.
They sent out a 'yellow alert', which is like a friendly warning that people should be careful.
The wind will blow at about 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, and sometimes even faster during heavy rain.
The temperature will be warm, with a high of about 31 degrees Celsius.
The good news is that Mumbai's air is very clean today.
The Air Quality Index is just 31, which is in the 'good' range, meaning the air is healthy to breathe.
Some nearby places, like Thane and Raigad, also got weather warnings, with Raigad getting a stronger 'orange alert'.
So if you live in Mumbai, it is a good day to stay indoors and watch the rain from a window.
