Andhra Pradesh Power Sector on High Alert Amid Deep Depression

A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal brought difficult weather to Andhra Pradesh.

The energy minister told electricity companies to stay ready all day and night.

Repair teams were prepared to fix power problems quickly.

Bad weather caused 18 high-voltage circuits to trip.

Workers restored eight feeders, while repairs continued on 10 circuits.

About 3,600 workers were organized into 266 special teams.

Officials also checked coal supplies so power plants could keep generating electricity.

People were asked to stay away from broken wires, damaged poles, transformers and electrical equipment in flooded areas.
