UPI Expands Globally with Strong Security Measures
UPI, a digital payment system in India, has grown a lot.
It now has over 55 crore users and handles many transactions.
UPI is also expanding to other countries like Nepal, Greece, and Singapore.
This helps Indian tourists and people living abroad to make payments easily.
The government and NPCI have put strong security measures in place to keep transactions safe.
These measures include special rules and checks to prevent fraud.
UPI is linked with payment systems in other countries to make person-to-person and person-to-merchant transactions easier.
The government is also working to make sure digital lending and payment systems are safe and secure.
UPI has onboarded 55.49 crore users by June 2026.
Transactions reached 24,162 crore in volume and Rs 314 lakh crore in value in FY 2025-26.
NPCI International is expanding UPI and RuPay to global markets for seamless cross-border payments.
Robust security measures, including risk-based transaction limits and comprehensive security frameworks, protect UPI transactions.
