Spinal injury took Ramesh Taurani's daughter from Bollywood to cafe
Raveena Taurani wanted to be a movie actor.
She started trying when she was 20 years old.
For nearly six years, she went to auditions but things did not work out.
When she was about 23, she hurt her back while doing a stunt at an audition for a dance film.
She was then replaced by a more famous actor.
To heal, she went to Goa and did lots of yoga.
She also got sick with stomach infections and found that giving up dairy products made her feel better.
She learned to cook plant-based food and took a class in Bali to become a vegan chef.
She began selling food from her home and soon had 100 customers.
In 2021, she opened her own cafe called Yogisattva Cafe in Bandra.
Today she says her injury was the best thing that happened to her because it gave her a new life.
Raveena Taurani, daughter of producer Ramesh Taurani, began auditioning for acting roles at age 20.
In 2015, at age 22-23, she suffered a spinal injury during a stunt at a dance film audition and was replaced by an established actor.
She healed her spine through yoga in Goa and gave up dairy after persistent stomach infections, turning to plant-based food.
After a vegan chef course in Bali, she started selling food from home, growing to 100 customers and a daily business.
She opened Yogisattva Cafe in Bandra in 2021 after COVID-19 delayed her original plans to open in 2020.
