UK Orders Probe into Foreign Election Interference
The UK's Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, has started an investigation into foreign countries trying to influence UK elections.
This comes after a former politician named Nathan Gill was sent to jail for over 10 years.
He took money to speak in favor of Russia in the European Parliament.
The government says this is a big problem for their democracy and wants to stop it.
The investigation will look into how to prevent such things from happening in the future.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer ordered a probe into foreign election interference.
Former Reform UK leader Nathan Gill was jailed for over 10 years for taking bribes to promote Russian interests.
Gill received approximately £40,000 in bribes to make pro-Russian speeches between 2018 and 2019.
The government cited the case as a stain on UK democracy and aims to remove this stain through the independent review.
Reform UK did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
