Lexus Recalls Luxury Models in India for Parking Assist Software Update
Lexus is recalling over 1,500 of its fancy cars in India because of a small glitch in their backup camera software.
Sometimes, when you put the car in reverse, the camera screen might freeze or go blank for a moment.
This isn't a big mechanical problem, and no one has reported any accidents because of it.
However, Lexus is recalling them to update the software for free.
This is like giving the car a tiny computer tune-up to make sure the camera always works when you need it to see behind you.
The recall affects models like the LM, LX, LS, NX, and RX made between late 2021 and mid-2025.
Lexus will contact the owners to get this fixed quickly.
Lexus India is recalling 1,588 luxury vehicles, including LM, LX, LS, NX, and RX models.
The recall is to update the Parking Assist ECU software, which controls the Panoramic View Monitor (rear-view camera).
A software error can cause the rear-view camera image to briefly freeze or not appear when reversing shortly after ignition.
While not affecting driving performance, the issue could temporarily impact visibility during parking.
Lexus will perform the software update free of charge, and owners will be contacted personally.
