Mumbai's Dahisar-Bhayandar Link Road to cut travel time
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is building a new elevated road called the Dahisar-Bhayandar Link Road (DBLR) in Mumbai.
This road will connect Dahisar and Bhayandar, which are currently about 10 km apart and take around 50-60 minutes to travel between due to heavy traffic.
The new road will be 4.58 km long and 45 metres wide, and it's expected to cut travel time down to just 5 minutes.
The project will cost Rs 2,337 crore and is expected to take 3.5 years to complete.
Once finished, it will help reduce traffic, save time, and lower fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
The BMC is currently waiting for environmental clearances before they can start building.

The project is part of the BMC's ambitious Coastal Road Project and will cost Rs 2,337 crore.
The DBLR will be 4.58 km long and 45 metres wide, with interchanges and ramps comprising an additional 3.64 km.
The project is expected to take 3.5 years to complete, with the initial 6 months dedicated to preparatory work and obtaining necessary permissions.
The DBLR will traverse several Coastal Regulation Zone-protected areas, including mangrove forests, Dahisar Creek, and salt pan land, and is currently awaiting environmental clearances.
