Assam Police Bust Jihadi Network Linked to Bangladesh

Assam Police Bust Jihadi Network Linked to Bangladesh

The Assam Police recently uncovered and dismantled a jihadi network that was operating in Assam, Tripura, and parts of West Bengal.

This network was linked to a group in Bangladesh and was involved in activities like radicalising people, collecting funds, and planning violent actions.

The police arrested 11 people involved in this network.

During questioning, these individuals admitted to their roles in the network, including travelling to Bangladesh for meetings and training.

They also confessed to using mosques and other places to spread their extremist ideas and to plan attacks.

The goal of the network was to create violence and unrest in the region by misusing religious beliefs.
