India Sets Record Foodgrain Target for 2025-2026
The Indian government wants to grow a lot of food in the next year!
They are aiming to produce over 362 million tonnes of food, which is more than they grew last year.
The government is keeping an eye on the amount of fertilizer that is needed.
They are launching a new program to help farmers with the rabi season.
Last year, farmers used more fertilizer like urea.
The plan is to make sure there's enough fertilizer to help grow lots of crops.
They are also monitoring fertilizer to avoid non-farm use.
India sets a record foodgrain production target of 362.96 million tonnes for 2025-2026.
This target is 2.5% higher than the actual output in 2024-2025.
The government is assessing fertilizer demand and supply.
Urea consumption increased by 4.59% from June to September.
A three-tier monitoring system is being implemented to manage fertilizer usage.
