Khammam Schools Show Reading Proficiency Gains
In Khammam, a special reading program called 'Every Child Reads' (ECR) has helped students improve their reading skills.
At the start, only 11% of students could read sentences, but by the end of December, 38% could.
The program had a short break because of elections, but now it's starting again with new materials to help students.
The goal is to have 75% of students reading sentences well in the next month.
Teachers will check progress every Wednesday.
The program focuses on teaching sounds instead of memorizing words.
The district hopes to see big improvements in reading soon.
