Fadnavis: Mumbai Unlikely Affordable, Focus Shifts to MMR Housing
Mumbai's leader, Devendra Fadnavis, says it's tough to make Mumbai cheap to live in due to high costs.
Instead, he wants to build affordable homes around Mumbai, in the MMR.
He plans to improve transport with trains and roads to connect these areas.
He also wants to use new ways to rebuild older areas and build new schools near the airport to help more people find homes.
CM Fadnavis stated Mumbai is unlikely to be affordable for homebuyers.
He advocated for affordable housing in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
Enhanced connectivity through metro projects and expressways is key.
Fadnavis emphasized cluster redevelopment and slum rehabilitation.
An education city near Navi Mumbai airport is planned.
