China says Sino-India border generally stable amid Arunachal tensions

India and China are two big countries that share a border high in the mountains.

Sometimes the two countries disagree about where exactly that border is.

China said that things along the border are mostly calm right now.

But China did not want to talk about reports that its soldiers were getting more active near a part of India called Arunachal Pradesh.

India said that keeping peace on the border is very important.

India also said that the situation on the border could affect the whole relationship between the two countries.

The two countries had a meeting last week to discuss border issues.

They agreed to keep talking to each other and to keep the border peaceful.

A few years ago, there was a big fight at a place called Galwan Valley, and it took a long time for things to get better.

Both countries are trying to be friends again, but they still disagree about some parts of the border.
