Kolkata Metro Halts Services August 3 for ATO Test
The Kolkata Metro is pausing trains on a section of the East-West line on August 3rd.
This is to test the Automatic Train Operation (ATO) system, which helps trains run automatically.
While this test happens, trains on the North-South line will still be running as normal.
This is an important step towards opening the whole East-West line, which was delayed due to some construction issues.
Officials are hoping to open the full line soon.
Kolkata Metro will suspend services on the Howrah Maidan to Esplanade stretch on August 3.
The suspension is for Automatic Train Operation (ATO) testing.
Normal services will run between Dakshineswar and Shahid Khudiram stations.
The ATO test is a key step towards making the East-West Metro line fully operational.
CRS has cleared the Sealdah-Esplanade section, which was previously delayed.
