Korean Kanagaraju Collects Rs 8 Crore in Telugu States
A new movie called Korean Kanagaraju just came out in theaters.
It is a horror comedy, which means it tries to be scary and funny at the same time.
A popular actor named Varun Tej plays the lead role in the movie.
Many people went to watch it in two states in India, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
So far, the movie has made about 8 crore rupees there, which is a very big amount of money.
It made more than 3 crore rupees on its first day and almost the same amount on its second day.
The people who put money into the movie spent about 12 crore rupees on it.
A funny comedian named Satya has made audiences laugh a lot with his jokes.
Some people who work in movies think the film could have earned even more money.
They say it would have been better to show more of Varun Tej's comedy and less of the gangster story.
Korean Kanagaraju has reportedly earned around Rs 8 crore plus share in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including premieres.
The horror comedy collected Rs 3.16 crore on day one and Rs 3.12 crore on day two.
The film was traded for Rs 12 crore and is likely to break even sooner rather than later.
The film received a mixed response across centres, but comedian Satya, known for the Mathu Vadalara franchise, emerged as a big highlight with his antics and one-liners.
A distributor believes focusing on Varun Tej's comedy, which drove his earlier success in F2, instead of the gangster angle could have made the film more money.
