Railways Approves Rs 800 Crore Safety and Freight Projects

Indian Railways approved four projects costing Rs 800 crore.

The projects are meant to make train travel safer and help trains carry more goods.

One project will build an 11-kilometre bypass in South Eastern Railway.

This bypass should allow more freight trains to move without causing bottlenecks.

Another project will install newer computer-based signalling at 21 stations.

Railways will also install Kavach 4.0 on 712 route kilometres in Moradabad Division.

Kavach can automatically apply a train’s brakes if it passes a red signal or travels too fast.

In Gujarat, a railway yard will be redesigned to reduce delays and improve punctuality.
