Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram

Ranbir Kapoor is playing Lord Ram in a new movie called Ramayana.

The movie is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and will be released in two parts, first during Diwali 2026 and the second part during Diwali 2027.

Arun Govil, who played Lord Ram in an old TV show, is now playing King Dasharatha in this movie.

He says Ranbir Kapoor looks good as Lord Ram and that playing a god requires a good and pure soul.

The movie also stars Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.

Arun Govil thinks comparisons with other adaptations are natural but emphasizes the importance of looking like a god.

He also mentions that the movie is different from Adipurush, another recent adaptation of the Ramayana story.
